'Help A Sista Out...'

So, I noticed that everyone else can change their icons to certain post and it won't change... But I don't know how to do that? I'm new to LJ so is there anyone who wants to show me the ropes. It's probably some common sense solution that I'll slap myself upside the head for not noticing later, but still... A little help please? :)

Do you keep changing your default pic? That's the one that always shows up. When you post just choose which one from the drop-down menu. If you change what's called your Default, it'll change everything you used Default on.

Several ways to influence icons in existing posts. The default icon is shown when no other icon is specified for that post. If you delete an icon you have used and then assign the exact same keywords to a new icon you upload, then the posts that used the old icon switch to the new uploaded one. And finally, you can do that with every entry if you edit it - that lets you change the icon after you already posted the entry.
