To repeat what I've said elsewhere: I can accept the acquittal. Maybe the prosecution couldn’t disprove a self-defense claim. I’m not a lawyer and I wasn’t in the jury room

I mean, he exemplifies the world they think they want. They have been triumphing a world where the individual is responsible for his every success. Also, screw black people and no restrictions on guns ever. Perfect storm of stupid, leading to tragic result, but it was just a poor black kid who paid the price, so they don't care.
It's terrible, but this is the verdict almost guaranteed by the circus that happened before the trial.
You know, if the prosecution pushed manslaughter instead of 2nd degree, I think they could have gotten a conviction. That, and they were really bad at their jobs. Horrendous. I wouldn't have called it a guarantee before trial.
I totally agree. I don't know if you can't instruct a jury to consider a lesser charge, or even present a prosecution in such a way in Florida. But if it was possible and they didn't include that charge? Fire all those prosecutors.
Even so, George Zimmerman stalked, confronted and killed an unarmed teenager for no good reason. He wanted to be Dirty Harry, profiled a black kid armed with Skittles, and got in over his head. Maybe he didn't execute Trevon Martin like a dog, but he's a dangerous loser, not a hero.
So, you believe that if you followed and spoke to someone, you would thereby be giving him the right to try to beat your head in? Tell me, at what point in the process of being beaten to death would you change your mind? Or would you maintain political correctness to the very end, even at the cost of your life?
I bet your answer is "I wouldn't confront him in the first place." Has it occurred to you that George Zimmerman, by being a bit braver than that, may have saved the lives of some future person Martin might have decided to beat to death, who might not have been armed?
After all, according to his cellphone logs, Martin was aggressive, sadistic and violent.

“Fucking punks. These assholes. They always get away.” <-- You know who.
We don't know for sure what happened. Maybe Martin was screaming on the 911 call, maybe Zimmerman was. Maybe Martin was standing over Zimmerman, maybe it was the other way around. All we know is that Zimmerman started it, and Zimmerman had the gun.
It takes a lot of fucking gall to assume -- as a matter of fact, not as a possibility we have to consider under the law -- that it all turned out the way you describe it. It's not "political correctness" to find your narrative implausible. (Hint: "Political correctness" is not what you think it means.)
I don't throw "racism" claims around lightly, but I think it's the best answer for why you dipshits rallied behind Zimmerman. I'm through listening to you.

I would have the exact same opinion of this case had Martin been white and Zimmerman been black. Race is irrelevant to the right of self-defense.
Oh really? A gun-totting black man follows a white man, they get in a scuffle, and the black man shoots him. You would assume the black man was a hero?
