ABC should have promo'ed tonight as Night of 1000 Horrors. I spent a great deal of time tonight peaking through my fingers, and I don't get squeamish, ever.
That said, those were two of the best hours of my TV-watching year.
what in the hell are Jack and Sloane up to ("together" and separately, because you totally know they're trying to get over on each other)? And how do Yelena Derevko and Bill Vaughn figure into it?
ohhhh Jack is so playing Sloane. Or something.
And this episode made me want to go back to my Vaughn writin' roots. Heh.
Seriously. I'm all about some Vaughn-fic now. Not that I'll be writing any, because I have enough on my plate, but I'd love it if you did. (Hint hint. Hey, it worked on kzingirl. It was worth a try.)
*sigh* I'll see what I can do. My Gilmore Girls muse has kicked back into gear (it was taking a vacation last week) and now I'm working on like three things. But jumping to Alias stuff might be good for a break.
Of course this will take a few more viewings of the episode. Oh darn.
[whispers] Don't tell anyone, but I've been kind of "meh" on the ship all season until last week, really. Tonight, though, I returned to S2 levels of fangirly squealiness. I've missed that feeling.
Has a mindfuck ever been more enjoyable? That is the first truly mindnumbing, fabulously confusing Alias episode in such a long time. You are just staring at the screen, trying to figure out what is going on, why and how. It as an amazing and exhausting hour! I loved it.
And Vartan just rocked. He was just so good. People don't give him credit because he isn't a "Look at me!" kind of actor, he is subtle. He gives Vaughn a depth, a soul, that a more 'showy' actor could never do. Not to mention, he is stunning.
And the drawer, sigh.
Also, I thought Jack asking Syd out to dinner, and knowing her reaction was a total throw back to when he blew her off in Season One. He is just a confusing, twisted, yet lovely man.
OK and how hard did I laugh at Miss Piggy as Syd? That was priceless :)
Vaughn has a drawer again! Squeeeee! [/hopeless fangirl shipper]
Ohhh, I loved that, too. I loved the whole bedroom scene, with him being all, "Have you seen my jacket?" and "Where are my keys?" and her just seamlessly tossing them to him without missing a beat. Oh, and I also loved when she and Vaughn were talking to Weiss getting ready to leave, and he put his arm around her and she leaned into him. I gotta tell you, last night I watched some of my season two DVDs and I was getting all nostalgic, but their relationship is even better now. They're just so in tune with each other.
I spent last weekend watching S2 and I had the same reaction. S3 kind of destroyed all those feeling about how well they "clicked" when they were on the same page, but tonight brought it back full force.
Oh, and I also loved when she and Vaughn were talking to Weiss getting ready to leave, and he put his arm around her and she leaned into him.
I went back and watched that 3 times after it happened. [/embarassing confessions] I never rewind the TiVo during an episode, but that deserved it.
And then Charlie was adorable, acting like the proud dad. I know, so cute, I actually said outloud when he hugged Jin and they started jumping up and down, "Aww, they're daddies!"
Other than Lauren Reed, nothing has filled me with more terror and dread than wondering if Jack was really going to amputate Boone's leg. Yeah, I changed the channel there for a minute, worried they were going to do it. Glad to see that Jack finally decided to let Boone die.
I loved Vaughn's nightmare. As soon as I saw him standing at the Wall of Honor, I was like, "poor Vaughn," until he started hacking at the wall, as which point I realized it was a dream. When they did the voiceover about Bill Vaughn's funeral, was it just me or did you think we were going to get a flashback of Little!Vaughn? I kinda thought (okay, hoped) we might.

It's been a long time since Alias made my head hurt in a good way, but tonight was good. Really good. Please, sir, can I have some more?

Oh, I don't have Tivo, but believe me, I rewound it plenty of times during the episode.
