Do these people even watch TV?

Well, those were some thoroughly uninspiring Emmy nominations. Other than the nominations for Scrubs, the Lost Boys, TAR and Project Runway (woo hoo!), I couldn't be more disappointed or unimpressed. Despite my feverent wishes, I wasn't really expecting Veronica Mars to get any nominations, although Kristen Bell was totally robbed. And, for God' ( Read more... )

I can't even begin to fathom ANTM with no Janice. *sniff*. If it weren't for Nigel still being around (mmmm, eye candy), I'd probably check out.

I caught onto Project Runway late, but it was awesome. It's hard to guess whether the second season will live up to the original, but if you like fashion and bitchiness, it's definitely worth a watch.

And, for God's sack, who does Lauren Graham have to sleep with to get a fucking nomination? Feh.

Considering ASP was willing to blow someone for LG to get nominated, apparently even sexual favors wouldn't have helped.

The mind boggles. Truly.

(BTW - it's great to see you around again!)

Hee! Really? ASP must really love LG. Has Lauren ever been nominated for an Emmy? Because I can't think of any actress in a comedy who deserves one more. She rocks up one side and down the other.

And thanks for the welcome back. I miss you!

Perhaps they should introduce a category "shows/actors which are really good but we're too ignorant to acknowledge" - their categories are so bloated anyway, one more doesn't matter.

I think in the acting categories name recognition and success with movies has become more and more important (unfortunately). Best chances for Lauren Graham to get a nom is probably to headline a reasonably big feature movie (budget and/or box office wise). That's all kinds of wrong but I guess the Emmy voters don't care to make the difference.
