For some reason, I've never been able to get birthday notices from LJ. Is this a Mac thing, or does LJ just not like me in particular? Anyway, since I didn't check in for a few days and I have a crapass memory, I missed jesouhaite47's birthday. Argh!

So sorry I missed it, Cath! I hope you had a fantastic day, nonetheless.

In other news, how much am I ( Read more... )

Why can't they make a pill for this kind of thing?

I wonder what the side effects would be....

But I know what you mean. I haven't gotten to the point where I've sat down and gone trolling through the Gilmore Girls spoiler thread, but it will probably happen sooner rather than later.

If you can't tell, I'm going cold turkey this year. For everything...except maybe episode titles (and possibly promo pictures.) And well, casting stuff, because I already heard the VM announcement. Dang it.

I know. I came across the VM casting stuff in the Media thread and TWoP, and, while I was thrilled, that was what started my quick descent into "well, there probably aren't any firm spoilers" kind of rationalization. Bad, Kenya! *smacks hand*

But I'm reverting back to spoiler-free status, I swear.

So it's not just a Mac thing. Interesting, but doubly frustrating.

I'm loving Kevin and Drew too -- especially since Drew was wearing a Duke hat during the Paris leg a few episodes ago. He has my eternal devotion after that. *g* Knowing I have this to look forward to every day after work has made the summer (my least favorite season) soooo much better.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Kenya! *hugs* Don't worry about missing it - I totally suck at wishing people happy birthday, and I get the reminders.

Now, as for those reminders...I get mine when I open my LJ Client. I use Semagic, which in Windows-based. I don't know if the Mac clients have an option to remind you of birthdays. If they don't, there's always this: http://www.livejournal.com/birthdays.bml

Aw, that's awesome. Thank you! I use XJournal for my client, which is Mac-based, but I don't think there's a birthday function. I'll have to checkk, though, because there's every other kind of function, it seems like.

Anyway, I hope you had a great day. Did you get that iPod yet? :-)

I didn't know you could get birthday notices from LJ!

GSN is on our digital-cable tier, which I don't have but am thinking about getting. Knowing that they're airing TAR eps makes me want it more! Although I've already missed S1 and will miss the start of S2 by the time I'd get it installed.

Word about the VM spoiler thing. I really don't want to be spoiled for it, either, but I find myself unable to totally stay away from the spoilers for it. Usually I only want spoilers when I'm worried about how something will turn out or I feel like I need to be prepared for TPTB screwing it up. And I don't feel that way about VM. But I miss it, so, yes, it needs to be on again NOW.

Apparently, you can get notices, although my info page always tells me that the feature is temporarily unavailable. Feh.

I would say the digital cable is worth it for TAR alone, especially when Season 6 starts up and hottie Jon comes back on my screen. *g* It's been a lot of fun watching these old episodes and seeing the evolution of the game. It's changed a lot since early Season 1, especially in the production values. The first episode was so poorly edited and confusing in terms of explaining who was in what place that I could barely follow what was going on. It's no wonder it wasn't exactly an insta-hit.

Usually I only want spoilers when I'm worried about how something will turn out or I feel like I need to be prepared for TPTB screwing it up.

Hee! That was actually what convinced me (and has kept me convinced) to be spoiler-free for Alias. Since I've feared the worst for the past two seasons (and the upcoming one), I don't even want to deal with the aggravation and stress of knowing spoilers in advance. VM is going to ( ... )

I've been watching TAR, too. I didn't start watching TAR until S5 (that was the season where Chip and Kim won, right?) so I've got five whole seasons to watch before they become reruns to me. I need a TiVo, though, cause I've missed a couple of eps.

In a way, I'm so jealous of you, getting to see all of these episodes for the first time. That's gonna be so awesome. If you've spent any time on the TWoP boards, I'm sure you've seen some of the past teams referred to in passing, but wait 'til you get a load of them for yourself. There are some real characters coming up in Seasons 2-4!
