dude, i think it's about time you searched for and printed out a chords list to expand your chord knowledge a little.

i do explore other chords
Dm, Dsus2, D7, A7, etc

but i don't have much feel for them so i don't use them often

also the capo works for letting me level up without me doing much. :P

Try some of the major sevenths
http://www.guitar-chords-central.com/majorseventhchords.html

It gives you a really mature sound, which transforms your majors into a more relaxed, diffused tone. When used excessively, you create smooth jazz; when used sparingly it makes your 'pop' song sound more like alternative rock.

Try this little exercise:

C Cmaj7 C Cmaj7
F Fmaj7 F Fmaj7
Cmaj7 C Cmaj7 C
Fmaj7 F Fmaj7 F

A Amaj7 A Amaj7
D Dmaj7 D Dmaj7
Amaj7 A Amaj7 A
Dmaj7 D Dmaj7 D

These four chords blend easily with the major chords you're used to, so it should help you out. The other major7s are practically useless, aside from Bmaj7, they sound like crap. Don't bother with sounds that don't sound good.
