Disappointing Weekend...

I would love to have gone to FurFright this year but unfortunately due to my financies its completely out of the question. I'm not sure why this year is so bad compared to last but it is what it is. Not much I can do, but it also means the rewards could be much better should things correct themselves.

While I'd like to go to some of these cons, too, I have to say that I did stop going many years ago when I realized how expensive they are. Between travel, food, registration, bar-night, and hotel the cost is comparable in my case to what many really great for real vacations go for. Maybe FWA will be in the works, though, since I can just drive to it.

I usually don't spend allot of money going to cons, I got here for the friends and I have found ways to make it easier by driving myself and offering a carpool and sharing rooms. I was lucky enough to go to AC for free (for volunteering the previous year and given free transportation and room by a local fur.) After AC though I knew that FurFright was out of the question.

That makes much more sense for cost. Unfortunately for me, I'm a terribly light sleeper so rooming with people tends to cause havoc for my sleep. Then, as my mind has expanded over the years and I've become more self-secure, I'm more... open to things... so my bf keeps a taut leash on me and won't go for a roomie situation. :-p

Well I can say for one thing I can sleep decent in most circumstances, though AC 2011 did have 2 roommates engaging in some extracurricular activities while I slept on the floor the first night. While I found it rude it wasn't much of a big deal as it was more of a distraction keeping from falling asleep than allowing me to stay asleep, I would have slept through it had they waited a half an hour.

Apparently though I'm a loud snorer as I learned last year at FF, so I myself, could keep people awake by accident. Oops

In the multi-roommate experiences I've had other than at AC 2011 which only involved 2 of the 5 people in the room with the lights out, I've not had any situation involving people being "open to things". I wouldn't complain though!
