Fascinating how it can be so wonderfully Edwardian and yet so...real, at the same time.

I'm glad you liked it! I honestly don't know where this idea came from, and I was worried it would be to folksy or earnest or something. Thanks so much for your feedback!

And it's so great to hear from you. The Flame isn't the same without you.

I think a ladder to the stars is a fabulous idea! When do we start? I say that as if either of us have the ambition or energy for such things, lol. This makes a good point about life without being preachy. I like it. Of course, I do want to see the scene where Mrs. Beaver is initially relieved that he had finally emerged from the garage, and then beats his ass for being stupid enough to do something risky like climbing so high. Just sayin'.

Mrs. Beaver has a secret stash of cooking wine and is just waiting to collect on the life insurance, man. Her only hope is that Beaver doesn't fall out of the sky and nullify the policy. It's a dark place in the den. A darrrrk place. :P

You should really consider making this little tale into a book for older children. I'd read it to my child, for sure. It's beautiful.

That is so kind of you to say! You always have the nicest compliments. I feel like I'm two inches off the ground with a big smile plastered on. Thank you so much for making my whole evening brighter! *hugs*
