Well, you are proof of success without an agent, so if you don't need one, then maybe I can just keep working at it the old fashioned way! But ugh, soooo hard.
And thanks about my hands. I have a rare syndrome called EDS which is kind of nasty. It makes all of my connective tissue fall apart, basically. I'm pretty practical about it most of the time, but now that the handicap is extending to my hands it's a bummer. But it's better than when I was writing everything out longhand! I'm such a Luddite! We really do live in a fascinating age. I just have to step into the twenty-first century and learn to take advantage of it all!
You're definitely a success! You had a book published, and you write the most beautiful prose!
I was born with EDS, so I don't really know any other way of existing. It doesn't feel like I am missing out on anything, only when something breaks and then I have to get used to some new restraint. I have a harder time dealing with my son (who is autistic), so I really need to have more grace about that situation! I feel like life is telling me to learn patience, but I am not a very good student!
Liking the website so far -- I've bookmarked so I can step through a bit more at leisure. Are you hosting your own site, or is pre-fab-ish? I like the styling of it, to be sure.
No tips on an agent yet, but I keep telling myself I'm going to begin that hunt in earnest myself shortly.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out. I know how busy you are ... your recent post made my head spin!!
The site is all 100% organic; I am lucky to have a hubby who does that sort of thing as a side hobby. He drew all the art and mapped it all out and coded it. I'm literally just the writer! I'm so bad at any sort of business. But he's been telling me that I have to actually TELL people if I want them to come and look at it. :)
I'll let you know if I find out anything about an agent. I have a friend who recently signed with one for her webcomic about Shakespeare, and she landed a book deal within 2 weeks of signing. I'm not sure if that's typical or not, which was why I thought I'd check into it. I have no idea how much they charge or how involved they are in the process, so I have a lot to learn, but if I find someone who seems good I'll let you know. I have always known I'll be reading your work in print, it's just a matter of when!
I like the site. Loved the Charon story. Poor guy. Nutdocs are all a little creepy don't you think? I'd have left this comment there but it seems your webmaster saw right through my disguise and knows I'm not human. Perhaps I'll have to send a stranger...
Oh, it means a lot to me that you went and checked out the site and read something there. That's exciting that it worked! You made my morning. Thank you! :D
There's a large line between Grandma W. (Let me detail all my problems in excruciating detail!) and Grandma K. (Let's keep everything a secret!). There's "normal chat" such as "I'm putting my writing online--is that cool or what?"!! Man!! :) <3 Good luck!

I have tried to get an agent a couple of times to no avail. Maybe someone else has had better luck and can give us both tips!
I'm sorry about your trouble with your hands. I hope it isn't too awful and that things improve. :(

EDS sounds awful! I'm so sorry! You sound so positive about it that I'm in awe.
