Last week, I was called in for jury duty and was selected to be on the actual jury. This being me, I showed up in a half-cosplay Miles Edgeworth outfit (if I had known it was going to be that cold in the courtroom, I would have worn the magenta jacket and endured the odd looks). While there was much Objecting on either side of the case, I was ( Read more... )

That's pretty nifty that you got called for jury duty...even if it did turn out to be a sorry example of the American justice system, although it doens't actually surprise me given what my stepdad has told me about his experiences in court...he once had to explain to the court that the "scientific explanation" the defendant (the grocery store that had wet floors with no warning signs that caused a woman to fall and broke her leg)was using actually made the argument that the floor was SAFER when wet (they were using a traction test I learned in high-school physics that works fine with dry surfaces but it useless with water)

Can has pictures of 24-hour Rome?

I followed the link Indy posted and then poked around. The main site of the place Indy linked to had a link to a flickr group but no one had posted pictures the last time I checked. Indy, if you have pictures I second Sarah's request for pictures.

Unless more pictures go up on the Arthouse website, the only ones I'll have will be from mom's phone. If I can wrestle that away from her long enough to sync it to my computer (since she doesn't know how to sync it to hers and doesn't have the software, besides), then there may be some pictures of glorious cardboard construction.

The twenty four hour Rome project looks really neat and very fun to participate in. I'd like to have seen it.

Sorry the trial wasn't that good. Makes sense that the courtroom was cold, though. It seems that public buildings are all over air conditioned.

Oh my goodness 24 hour Rome why had I never heard of this before? Your city is supremely awesome. Too bad it's on an uninhabitable planet.

It's actually not so bad right now. It's been cool and rainy for a while now.

But speaking of uninhabitable planets, the last round of the Magic tournament before the World one in Rome is in Austin. Is Sam planning on coming? More importantly, are you?

Man, if I'm ever going to be called for jury duty, it has to be within the next two years. After I enter law school, I'll get dismissed every which way (as my dad attests). As for you, at the very least it is a milestone in your life and something to talk about.

I have never heard of this 'Rome Build in a Day' deal. Lucky getting Romulus and the architect gopher, though.
