R.I.P. Blackness

Jan 26, 2010 03:12

It's 2:45am, and I've been sitting here for the last couple of hours next to the mortal remains of my oldest cat. She'll be buried tomorrow and then I'll have to go to a job where being cheerful and helpful at the customers is priority #1. I don't know how that's going to go at all.

Cut for stories about my cat )

It sucks when cats die. Really, really sucks, especially when it's one that you definitely had the sense that it was yours. ...There's nothing else to really say.

My cat Kitty died Sunday afternoon, back in New York. My Mom told me she climbed to the second floor, and her heart just gave out. She was about the same age as Blackness...something like two months shy of her sixteenth birthday.

While I can't regret choosing to stay in Wisconsin (personal life choices, and all that), I'm upset that I wasn't there with her, and that I hadn't been home for so long before then.

Saying 'feel better' seems useless, as I'm not feeling too great right now myself. But have a long-distance hug, wanted or otherwise.

Ohhh, I am so sorry. Losing a kitty, especially one who has been such a constant is rough. I hope you have something else small and furry to hug and help you cope, even if just a little.

I look forward to the picspam. Once on the internet, nothing is truly gone.
