Another grand old building bites the dust in the name of 'progress'. And who exactly is going to buy these apartments? As you said, there are scores of them lying empty all over Belfast as it is! Time the architectural lobbyists here had more of a say but that'll happen when hell freezes over. :-(

As long as the property developers and the councillors are tied up a mutual bribefest nothing will change and that would take people to stop voting for DUP, UUP, Alliance and SDLP councillors. For once though credit to Sinn Fein - wee Maskey will be returning to my ballot the next time the council is up for election (which, if the last time is anything to go by, will probably be about ten years from now).
