It is not very often that it rains here without being windy too. And wind + rain = umbrella is useless. I just have a hat with me at all times. It takes up less room and is lighter than a brolly and it keeps your head warm too - brollies can't say that!

I wish I could go by that method. Being a wearer of glasses, I have to keep rain off my face until they invent tiny attachable wind-screen wipers!

I love being out in the rain under an umbrella. You're in your own little world with the sounds of raindrops hitting so close to your ears. =)I used to do this all the time when i was a kid...it would rain, and I'd put on my raincoat and galoshes, and grab my umbrella and just walk up and down the sidewalk in the rain. =)
