Art and Faith

This week I am taking a class at the Grunewald Guild in my home town of Plain thanks to a kind man in our community who wanted to give a class to some youth in the valley.  I have only attended two meals, the orientation and matins (which is a time for a faculty member to share about their art and faith journey), and I already love it!  I am so ( Read more... )

it's funny, i've spent a while angry at myself for creating art that i didn't think deeply about beforehand or didn't give a meaning or idea to it before i started. all i've been doing is letting it spontaneously come out. and i didn't think that that was right.

then yesterday (right before i read your entry) i came to the conclusion that it creates its own meaning. it doesn't have to "mean" something else, because it is what it is. inspiration from an outside source went through the mind of the creator to make something new. and it will be new again every time someone else looks at it.

and there's nothing to be angry about anymore. just fascinated.
