A festival was in Twilight Town one week, and Axel and Roxas went for the foreign food and the sights. They both got henna tattoos on their palms, elbowing and shouldering and jostling each other while they waited for them to dry. The ink stayed for weeks, a dark brown that stood out starkly on pale skin that bled into warm orange, the same color that bathed Twilight Town at sunset.
But Roxas doesn’t remember that now, so he doesn’t think of anything when he stares at the fire-orange sky and traces invisible patterns on the palm of his hand.
