Cryptonomicon is my favoritest book ever!!! What do you think? We almost named our house here Qyghlm.

I swear, I've read like 20 of these books.

I am still just beginning. I keep getting pulled away from it - yesterday I got one of my review books for the month and had to dive right into it. It might take me a year to read it!

I can only spot 24 on there that I remember reading, although I suspect I've read more Ballard books and forgotten them.

I've read about 50 of those, and the criteria for choosing them seems a bit odd. (the recent list is quite heavy on Jeannette Winterson, and she's not THAT good.)

I did find the list odd in some respects - seems author specific and certainly heavy on certain authors. Dostoevsky is one of my favorite authors, but I wouldn't include all of his works listed here on the top 1001 of all time list. Also, where's Aeschylus and Aristophanes in the oldies but goodies section?

I was missing the Canterbury Tales too, unless my brain was fried by that time and I just didn't see it.
