I really like movies

I've stolen this meme from hobnobofjoy, and, like her, am doing it all at once instead of over 11 days.

Why? Because it's 2 AM and I've absolutely nothing else to do.

Day 01 - The best movie you saw during the last year

I think I want to see Roman Holiday now!

Aargh, I could go on and on about how wonderful the 1995 P&P and how awful and wrong the 2005 version is. I can't even bring myself to rewatch it, it angered me so much!

I probably need to take it less seriously, but the 1995 version has been seriously formative for me! I watched it with my mum when I was little, and have seen it enough that I know it scarily off by heart now. Mr Darcy has pretty much ruined me for real men, and Colin Firth is my ultimate crush.

PLEASE see Roman Holiday! It's such a lovely film, and I challenge anyone to find anything as delightful as Audrey Hepburn as Princess Ann (in her first movie role, I might add). It's full of fun and love and romance and laughs and heartbreak, all against the perfect backdrop of Rome, and OMG I LOVE IT SO MUCH

As much as Colonol Brandon will always be my main Austen man (Alan Rickman's portrayal = LAHV), Mr. Darcy comes pretty damn close. To be honest, I thought Darcy was a little bit of a dick in the book when I first read it yeeeears ago, but seeing Colin Firth as Darcy really made me love him. And I pretty much refuse to speak of the 2005 version. I get SO angry whenever my friends (who haven't seen the 1995 version) go "But it's so much more ROMANTIC!" or "But Keira Knightley's PERFECT for Lizzie!" or "OMG THIS DARCY IS SO PERFECT AND HOT OMG!"
