Thanks for the heads-up on the sale price. This is one of my "always keep a copy where you can find it" books, and has been re-read several times...and now I have a Kindle copy!

Huh. I've never managed to finish that one. (Well, unless you counting skipping to the end.) But I also am not hugely in love with "Strong Poison" or "Have His Carcase". I think in part because it's hard to beat the uber-example of a Lord Peter book, "The Nine Tailors", in part because I would have just said "yes" the first or second time he proposed and get tired of Harriet's vacillating for reasons I don't find especially compelling. He's the younger son/brother of a Duke, absolutely brilliant, not unattractive by certain values, and collects rare books. That's without having saved you from hanging. What on Earth else would you want? Independence and self-reliance are highly overrated.
