Town Hall itself was built, I think, merely for its steps: goths and emos needed somewhere to congregate, you see, and now they have that place.

Considering I disembark from my bus at QVB, amd walk through every day, I hope it doesn't fall apart, either. :P I'm not sure what's inside Town Hall, either... I do know that one anime convention last year was held there, though.
I've seen some of those tunnels, and the bookstore! Never browsed the latter, though.

Those plaque and honour boards at Central commemorate all employees of the Railways Department who died in combat - back in the day when the Railways were a proud and revered organisation.
Town Hall is where Ciy of Sydney Council is based, but mainly in the modern office block right behind the old building. The old one with the steps has a hall with a dirty big pipe organ that UTS uses for graduation ceremonies and some other offices.
Don't worry, the floor of the QVB was built like that. Blame the crazy architects from the 1800s.
