In the MRT stations here you frequently see disabled and/or elderly people selling small packs of tissues. The going rate is S$1 for three packs.
Yesterday I was walking through a station and a very old woman sitting on the side of the walkway says to the person in front of me "tissues, three for a dollar".
Then she spots me.
"Tissues, one for a dollar."
Really? Just because I'm not Asian doesn't mean I don't know what the standard rate is. Plus I heard you tell the person right in front of me said rate. Look, I know selling tissues is probably a pretty shitty way to earn a living, and it looks like few people ever actually stop to buy them. But if you're going to try to rip someone off you need to be a bit more subtle about it.
