aunties love me

There's this old Chinese auntie in my building (you call older women here auntie out of respect). She sits outside her first floor apartment so sometimes I walk by her in the morning or evening. Every time she sees me she gets this big smile and I say "Hi, Auntie!" and wave and she talks to me. I don't really understand as it's mostly Chinese with ( Read more... )

Maybe something that would last longer than cut flowers, like a little potted plant?

♥ I wish we could call older people auntie over here...wait... that would probably mean me... hmmmm, maybe I need to think on this. :))

I'd go with a flower of some sort personally. How would you know if they like the fruit you give and what if they don't, you've given them a worthless piece of something they will have to throw out. A flower (just one to start, don't want to overwhelm the poor lady) will have to be thrown away too, but at least it is pretty.

I always feel a bit weird when I get called sir by shopkeepers or something. I'm not a sir!

Yeah, definitely not like a giant bouquet or anything.
