Is that the book about the painting of the Sistine Chapel? My mom lent that book to me to read after we visited Rome...and it just now occured to me that I don't know where it went. What I read of it was apparently not compelling enough to keep me from losing it.

If I make it down to Nashville in the near future, we should meet up and do lunch!

I hug-a you!
I kiss-a you!
oh my ethano, how i love-a you!

no pouting my fuzzy Tennessean friend.

selfish, no, you are not. you are a good fellow. don't forget it.

honestly though everyone needs a little selfishness in their life --as long as it is constructive, who the hell can criticize one for it? if i werent selfishly trying to distract myself from the pain and misery in my life, i swear, i'd go crazy. so keep gardening and cooking, and read some systematic theology --forget the simplistic stuff. it'll make you feel like its not alllll a bunch of hooey. never forget that subjective experience is a constitutive element of your reality --you have the right to address it in whatever way feels right (as long as youre not performing human sacrifice or killing people over it, and dont let the anthropologists tell you otherwise with their pithy relativism)

anyway, i am caffeinated and ranting, so i shall sum up.

i love you.
you are a good man.
go garden.
