It is said that it was the white blonde hair that first caught Pansy's eyes six years after the war. Long, fine hair floated loose behind its owner, the wind catching and playing with it.
If asked, Pansy would snort and say that it was the hideous combination of lime green and yellow that really got her attention.
If Luna was there, she would just smile warm and quiet and say that it really was just that Pansy had a Lonely Leaf land on her shoulder.
It might have been a combination of all three of these things but something that particular day made Pansy walk up to Luna in the middle of the busy, bustling Diagon Alley to tap her lightly on the shoulder.
Luna turned, and said “You have something there”, and picked off a brown, dry leaf from Pansy's cardigan.
Pansy gazed at her open pale blue eyes and found herself five minutes later sitting in a small cafe drinking white coffee and listening to Luna speak.
It is a whirlwind romance that surprises everyone, and then no one. Really, you could see it if you tried.
Imagine: Luna's blonde hair swirled together with Pansy's dark hair as they touch shoulder to shoulder in their small kitchen in the house on the hill.

When Pansy no longer fears the answer, she asks Luna a whispered “Why?”
Luna turns to her much like she did so many years before, and pulls her in for a gentle kiss.
“This.” She whispers back.
Pansy smiles.
