I'm so sick and tired of financial issues. I know that everybody has them and things are hard for alot of people right now, but I'm so tired of the lack of money getting in the way of my life. I had to turn down Sam and Audrey's invite to Darien Lake today, a trip that we have all been looking forward to for a while. I took the day off and perkins ( Read more... )

It's difficult trying to juggle things around isn't it? All of my friends are at the snow this week and I am here at home for the precise same reasons as you -- I can't afford to live/holiday at the same time.

It would be a shame for you to miss this trip, but you have to do what you have to do to make ends meet. Is it possible for you to only be in Virginia for a couple of days, instead of four? That way you might be able to snag a couple of those extra shifts, and also take a tiny break.

Why are you still considered a dependant?

I'm not sure why I have to be considered as a dependant - but the thing with financial aid is that unless you are married or orphaned you have to claim yourself as a dependant until you are 24. It doesn't make any sense, does it? i'm not claimed as a dependant on my taxes; it just seems very wrong.
ah well, what can you do?
I'm sorry you couldn't hang out with your friends this week either :(. Hopefully soon we'll both take a vacation. As far as Virginia goes, I'm going to go and, as you said, maybe head back home a couple days early. That seems like the best option at this point. :)

Melissa I am so sad about this situation, you deserve this vacation, you deserve to finish school, and money sucks. well, money does not suck, but money issues suck. did you see if you could pick up some serving shifts at the beginning of this week? maybe you'd be able to scrounge up enough to still go with dan. I hope it works out for you:( if you have tow rok though it wont be the end of the world, which you already know, keep your chin up:)

Luckily Tim did happen to schedule me monday and tuesday before I go, which was nice; sue only schedules me on the weekends these days.
But I feel like no matter what I do it wont be enough to catch up, so I'm gonna go and maybe head back a couple days early and just not fall quite so far behind.
lol don't be sad for me sam, it's my own fault, I should have never moved out of my mom and dads house til I was done with school. But I did, and so here I am, and I just have to find a way to catch back up, that's all. :) ttyl, I'm sorry I missed out on Darien (missed you girls yesterday too)and i'll ttys. :)
