Just a few passages from a book I'm reading...
The clock is our idol and we bow to its whims, always running a little behind like the terrible sinners we are. How many minutes of the day can the average person give up without compromise? Very few, but...to find peace in the valley of the shadow, it's worth getting up twenty minutes earlier.
And this one is mostly for
Smartysmurf:
I looked. "I see a woman with long, dark hair, deep blue eyes that reflect the moon, strong shoulders, and capable hands. I see a serene face...almost always smiling."
"Look again, child."
I looked, and suddenly I was whirling out to the edges of the undiverse, then ack, aware of every star, every planet, each creature on Earth. I knew the pain of a billion births, the joy of a billion spring afternoons, the sound of eery breath ever draw.
"I see.." I stammered, still lost in the vision," I see everything, my Lady."
"Look again."
All gew still around me, and again I looked into a woman's face. "I see grey blue eyes, reddish hair, a small mouth...Oh...I see myself."
She smiled."You're learning."
...and it slowly becomes obvious that I should never have this much unstructured free time near my computer again. I being productive, I swear...just cleaned out and reorganized an entire bookshelf! But I do tend to ramble on when I'm full of nervous energy..and this is my only outlet right now...
