Not The Most Successful Experiment

Our calico cat, Miss Cloud, is always trying to get Outside. She wants to explore the Land of New Smells. So today I decided to try and accommodate her, with some human control of the process

As I learned last year around this time, kittens belong Inside. As tempting as Outside is, it is not worth the potential risks and pitfalls. Thankfully, we were able to recatch our cat who had decided that Outside was preferable to the V-E-T (squirmed out of my arms and a harness in about two seconds). Found her in a neighbour's unfinished basement four days later.

Now, she has no interest in going Outside. However, she must have told her sister something interesting, since that one is always trying to get Outside. And even managing to surreptitiously slip out sometimes without my parents noticing. Luckily she doesn't go far.

You might try a figure-8 harness... they tend to be more wriggle-proof. :-)

That's the plan. I just need to get a bigger one. I took a guess at her diameter, and turned out to be off by enough inches that the one I got wouldn't go on. :)
