The convenience in portal travel was supposed to lie in the fact that it was instantaneous, or nearly so. Certainly Portalocity's penchant for depositing its customers in less than ideal locales was not a selling point. Tahiri ignored the growling from her stomach (it wasn't saying anything coherent in Tusken anyway) and pushed a damp lock of hair out of her face as she peered down the highway in either direction.

Firekeeper was currently both a little awed and a little dismayed with regards to how the pavement just seemed to stretch on forever. Of all her (admittedly limited) experience with such things, it reminded her most of the roads in u-Seeheera. Though without the colorful mosaics or decorated pedestrian walkways.

At Tahiri's comment, she snorted with amusement. "No minds to trick."

Tahiri snarled a mild Yuuzhan Vong curse and held a hand out, warning both Firekeeper and Blind Seer to slow down. "Careful. Broken glass up ahead," she said, pointing at a shattered beer bottle a dozen or so paces in front of them before she reached out in the Force to clear the pieces away. "Stupid kriffing Portalocity. I'm starving."
