You gotta let us know how Seabound is live. I dig their albums.

I like them live! They came here with Covenant a while back. I got into them and Iris in a big way at the same time, so to see them together will be a HUGE treat.

I know...and the really aggravating part is I'm going to be in Atlanta.

Shaddap. You flew out to see De/Vision. Don't wanna hear it :P

(That does suck. I don't know how you could have had worst timing for that trip.)

I know. The only thing giving me some consolation is that I saw Iris twice last year and I've seen Seabound before. Still sucks. But I get to see Franklin, so boyfriend vs bands... boyfriend wins:)

The problem with WTII's promotion is this:
He sends text messages, Myspace bulletins/invitations, and flyers certain venues/nights. He also promotes at his own "showcase shows". Very rarely does he do more than that.

Neo never allows flyers unless they are their own.

He used to spam the hell out of Spot 6's events.

It could be that you just heard about it because you haven't been where he frequents.

I knew about the show but really didn't care. Seabound is good live if you're into that sort of thing.

Hardy har har.

I can't believe one of the bazillion yahoo groups I'm on didn't have SOMEthing about it. I only found out through demon and darlings "things slash might like to do" or whatever list on bottom of the website because I had happened to click through to it for more info on an event from there yahoo group mailing.

In indy there were 3 different mailing lists and a website that had all the goings on of all the promoters- here there is crazy little cross promotion, and apparently no one place to get your info. I'm flabbergasted that 2 bands I've loved so much for so long were a footnote on a website- never the headline of an e-mail. Guess I have to get this WTII guy's myspace or something- but even myspace is iffy vs a yahoo group.

what kind of music are they?

Synthpop. People argue about Seabound being more this or that or the other (i'm guessing because their sound can get a little heavier and crunchier at times than standard synthpop), but I put them into the synthpop category in my world. Iris is one of my favorite bands ever re: their first album Disconnect.

That has the whole album, pick any of the songs to check out. I love them all.

For Seabound, this is the first album I fell in love with. One of the albums I listened to while wandering the streets of Tokyo in early 2002-

Definitely synthpop. But one of the better synthpop acts out there.

Yep. I saw Iris twice last year. I saw Seabound with Covenant and wasn't as impressed by them live although it was still a good show.
