Cat advice sought

Last night, half an hour after getting to bed, I was woken by what sounded like my cat in distress, so I got up only to find that he had found a mouse. He then spent the rest of the night playing/toying/torturing said mouse ( Read more... )

mice in top floor flats are not great as they get into your food, and may not be healthy themselves. I would remove said mouse from Caskie next time and get rid of it. You don't want mouse poo in your food.

And as for the waking up bit, your only guaranteed option is to stop him coming into your room.

Cats are the best mouse removal system there is! I say let the cat do its job :) Although shutting your door so you don't get surprised by 'presents' might be a good plan...

I feed Betty Whiskas Dentabits to keep her teeth clean.

And once the tubs are empty I keep them because they make perfect mouse sized/shaped coffins for mouse disposal.

If it's just the one mouse, I wouldn't worry too much about pest control. If it get to being one mouse a day, then yes, call them in. But if it's just one mouse, a cat will be perfectly adequate pest control.
