I told you guys I loved the prompt, right? Apparently that didn't mean that I had an actual plot idea. |D

Title: Climbing Hills
Pairing: Fuji, Saeki
Prompt: not everything makes you stronger

Notes/Warnings: Fuji quits tennis. Again. Overused plot warning.

( Fuji was a dreamer-no child wasn't-but it was hard to dream about climbing a mountain that wasn't there )

I liked it. :) I've only seen Saeki once, but he seems like he would be as you have him. Nice line at the end.

I think Saeki only shows up twice in the manga anyways. *sad* Or if he shows up more, I totally missed him, even though he's now one of my favorites. I'm glad you liked it!

Oh wait, I lied anyway. Met him at Rokkaku's courts, and then when he played, targeting Eiji. I liked him - laidback but pretty vicious on the court! He's cute, too. :) I just like the idea of Fuji having a friend outside of Seigaku.

xD Would you believe me that it's more or less canon? It was an insert page in the manga, or a title page or something. I think Fuji was on the basketball court holding a ball.

xD Yeah, I finally noticed it on the third re-reading I did of the manga, and I was like, "WHOAH, Fuji's a jock!"

Aww, this was kind of sweet. I like Saeki's thoughts about challenge (or lack thereof) and motivation - he's right that it's hard to continue in something that's competitive if there's really not much competition.

The lines about cheering Yuuta were just...aww!

Like one of the other posters, I have a hard time picturing Fuji as a basketball player - I'm so going to have to hunt out that page now!

I know, Fuji and basketball just don't seem... right. It's too manly of a sport for him, yes?

I actually really liked Saeki's thoughts too. They were my favorite part of writing this. And Yuuta = &hearts!

Actually my initial thought was "well, he'd have to be pretty stinking good to compete with all the tall people."

I should read more Saeki fic - I've never paid much attention to him, but there's something about him I like.
