Torchwood: my opinions

So over the past month or two I've been watching Torchwood, and seldom has a series left me more conflicted.
Fandom seems to swoon over it often. Jack Harkness is often made much of as "the guy who will sleep with anything". 
Upon watching the series, I have to conclude that what I watched was completely

I think Jack was a bit of an idiot in TW. He went around not sharing information at ALL, and then got all surprised when his team got pissed off. He does not play very nicely at the head of the team. (an example: Adrift, where he could have just TOLD Gwen they know what happens to the people who vanish into the rift. But he didn't, and I'm really not sure why).

I really liked Tosh, but Owen managed to consistently rub me the wrong way. I agree that Tosh's death was incredibly pointless, and actually, I wish she had gotten over Owen and gone for somebody who would have been good to her. I wanted her to find happiness :(

Yeah, the first half of the season 1 finale was pretty darn amazing. There were several excellent episodes, which is probably one of the things that kept me watching.

About Children of Earth - I adored the first 3 episodes of it, and I think I might be pretending the last two didn't happen. What I thought they did very right was raise the whole dilemma of, do you sacrifice a few to save everybody? And they showed
