XDDD no, I'm distinctly *not* Chassidic. Chassidic music is the colloquial name for music that's basically passages from the Torah (or any other religious text, really) put to music. It's a music style, but you can have all sorts of genres, even things that are sort of like rock. You've got stuff like this, and stuff like this, and a whole lot in between. Many of the singers are American, or sing with a heavy Ashkenazi accent, but there are also Israelis. (know Greenday's Basket Case? Have the Chassidic version
:) s'ok. Thing is, Israeli society is very varied. Even if a person goes to Chassidic prayers it doesn't necessarily mean they're Chassidic - maybe they just like the style. It's all becoming one big mix, as people intermarry. (also remember that Israeli society is divided into about 209875 different distinct groups. What kind of Chassidism? You're being too general XDD)
In terms of customs, I'm Turkish, though I'm mixed-blood.
