ahh, try letters to a young poet by rainer maria rilke. it's not a novel or anything, but it's pretty awesome and doesn't have to be read through in one go in order to make you retain anything.

i'm sure i could think of others, but that's all i've got at the moment..

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie still remains one of my all-time favorites.

And of course Dan Brown, while kind of a sell-out, is still a great option (Angels and Demons OWNS)
