I'm glad you caught that! It's EXACTLY the "different" context that I had in mind!
Aw. SAM. *smishes*
DEAN. (I'm sorry I broke your knee AND gave you an ulcer and a drinking problem and a traumatized little brother...you're a trooper.)
So far, no lake monsters in Lake Michigan. I thought I'd take a jab at Lake Erie because it's super hella polluted and I have friends who live in Erie and apparently, the whole city smells kinda foul on really hot days because of the lake. Oops.
Lake Michigan has lots of bugs in it though. And it's oddly smooth. Like, you know how you go to a beach on an ocean and there's shells and rocks and STUFF that you step on when you go in the water? Lake Michigan was just smooth sand the whole way out.
It was awesome though. I want to learn how to paddle surf next summer. Sean said if I'm a good girl maybe Santa will bring me a surfboard this Christmas. Hee.

I also love it when authors write in locations they know intimately. (So if you don't know the Great Lakes, big fat kudos to you!) Squeaking sand. The lake itself. I think we should have a challenge where writers use their current locale for fic, and have it play an integral role. Force you to find something fascinating about your town.
And lastly, the darling boys. Here's what I find most fascinating about where you're going with this: Dean has always been the physical one, Sam, the cerebral. And here as their 'careers' are waning, Dean is chock full of aches and pains, and Sam has scrambled eggs for a brain. They must redefine who they are and how they function. Nothing is certain in life, but change. I'd LOVE to see more along this vein!
Guess I'm just brimming with love today. Or I need a thesaurus. Oh, bother. Great job!

Looking forward to the amusement park fic when it comes to fruition, fer sher.
I'm here transplanted in Buckeye territory myself. By way of Minnesota, Florida, Washington DC, New York, and West Virginia. I've always wanted to do something with Appalachia's Mothman...
And thank you! I have a Dean one too. SPN SummerArt gave me an excuse to put the shirtless boys in cut-offs. Like I needed an excuse...

I'm hoping that once my move is over with, I finally work on my amusement park fic. It's all mapped out and the first section is written. It just needs finished. Boo.
Wow! You have lots of places to draw on! That's awesome. Hey, neighbor. *waves* Are you east Ohio or west?
I've always wanted to do something with Appalachia's Mothman...
Do eeeeeet! That would be seriously sweet. I'm actually kinda surprised that Show hasn't gone there.
And we always need more shirtless boys in cut-offs (on a beach!).
