This is the best fic I have read in a very long time. And the saddest. And yet the most hopeful and the one with the best ending. Erm, if that makes any sense at all. I'm basically in awe of your writing in every single story I've ever read of yours, and I'm fairly certain you're the only author I've ever seen who's completely fixed Sam's hell-issues in a way that didn't seem cheezy or an opt-out. In fact, we had to get through a whole mess of tear-jerking stuff and Sam being freaking DEAD in order to get there. It felt real, the emotions and the hopelessness and the pain, and it was an all-around gorgeous piece.
AND- The way you wrote about the souls wearing Cas down and being these malevolent and overpowering voices in his mind was too brilliant for words. Kudos for sucess on a second-person fic and for using that to get the interaction between Cas and the souls down so well.

This was so, so chilling. Castiel and his interaction with the souls was just brilliant. And what Sam and Dean both went through, just gosh, I can't believe I'm still holding myself together.
