SPN FIC: 11 Days

Mar 27, 2012 09:50

I wrote 7.17 reaction fic! Yes, I hate the ending that much. For now. I reserve the right to change my opinion on that matter if Show gives me a reason to in the future.

Anyway, thank yous are needed for 4422shiniemmram for their encouragement and general awesomeness. emmram has written her own coda which is absolutely delightful and which mine doesn't even compare to ( Read more... )

This. This. This.
So much better than canon.
It broke my heart, and in the end it still broke my heart but in a good way. This is how I want the show to end. With Sam and Dean together in Heaven, and Dean keeping Sam's broken soul together until then.
Just perfect. Thank you so much for this fic!

It's written in Dean's soul DNA to be the protector when it comes to Sam. There's just no way around it.

You're welcome! Thank you for reading!

\o/ This is so awesome! I'm so glad you posted this!!! :D

Man, I wish show did this. This would be an awesome fix it for their hole digging catastrophe.

On a side note:
You know, I was thinking today about Supernatural's red herrings. Like using the colt against Lucifer. Or Eve as the big baddie. I'm wondering if this shifting BS is somehow a red herring. Don't ask me how- Supernatural manages to really surprise me a lot of the time- but I'm beginning to suspect that the whole fix-it may be a diversion or something to the real issue (especially considering they still have 6 episodes to go).

At least, it better be! Otherwise... >:(

You raise an excellent point about the red herrings. I was kinda thinking about that myself. I mean, the hell effects were such a huge part of the season, and to just POOF them away with a fairly decent chunk of the season left just seems...weird?

I've seen it postulated that Castiel is merely acting as interference for Sam's hell effects (probably on this page, or the previous entry) and that he hasn't really fixed anything, he's just channeling them into himself. So, as long as the effects can be channeled into him, Sam is fine. Since Show has made it pretty obvious that Castiel Must Be Protected, I'm assuming its only a matter of time before he's screwed with...and then the connection will be severed/damaged/threatened and Sam will be back in the splash zone.

At least...this is what I hope is the case.

*happy sigh*

You are my hero. This si simply perfect. You fixed the awful ending of a nearly perfect episode and gave us *exactly* what I needed! I didn't even expect a happy ending and you did SOULMATES ending! and it makes so much sense that I want to mail this to the writers to show them how it's done.

I love all the charaterizations. Dean is so broken too, barely keeping it together but still he finds strenght to be awesome, and determinate, to be there for his brother and forge a tentative bond with Castiel again. Castiel is so overwhelmed by guilt he's nearly paralized because there's no easy way out, but he's still looking for a way to cure Sam and redeem himself. And our poor dear Sam, who's holding on by a thread, probably trying not to leave his brother behind.

This is how I want the series to end, both brothers going together, and getting their happily ever after and deserved rest in heaven.

Thank you so very much for this!

...probably trying not to leave his brother behind.

Definitely. I think he was more aware of what was happening than what we see. Don't get me wrong, he was waaaay off in crazytown, but he still knew he couldn't leave Dean behind.

Hee. SOULMATES!

I'm glad you enjoyed! Thank you for reading!

Is it bad that I like this better than the episode? This was the kind of solution I was hoping to see in Fridays episode. Not Cas shifting Sam's brokenness to himself.
I loved the angst and the soul mate solution was genius and just perfect. This entire fic is just brilliance! :)
