i just thought i'd announce to the world.... Brad is cute. ^_^ teehee. That is all.
and now for the exciting news.... I WON A COPY OF A POOH FARM BOOK ON
EBAY!!! I WON THE 'HAPPINESS AND GOAL'!!! THE -HARDEST- BOOK YOU COULD
EVER ATTEMPT TO TRACK DOWN!
*giggles and does a little dance* i just
need to get the others, but i got the happiness and goal. ooooh, i'm
soooo happy! and the best part? the last time i tried to get this book
it went clear up to $80+ dollars. Me? i got it for a whompin,
$16.49! In my mind, this a victory for the scoreboards!
i just finished re-reading 'Rainbow in the dark by David Pontier, so
i'm going to re-read Homeland. The best book Salvatore ever wrote. If
you have to read only one book of his, read Homeland. That one has
magic and art inside of the pages. it has something that is still
indecribable even after starting it for the fifth time. it just has...
'it'.
I'm going up to hi-c tomorrow, a natural hot spring resort about 45
minutes away from where i live. Katrina invited me up for the day and
due to the fact i'm not teaching at church tomorrow, i'm going to play
hooky and go play with the girls tomorrow at the hot spirngs ^_^ teehee
oooooh! i forgot! yesterday was insane! so basically our manager was in
the back room ALL FRIGGIN DAY! and i had the keys to everything. So
Kaitlyn and I were in charge of the boys *curls fingers into claws of
death and growls* i just wanted to throddle them... grr.. anyway, so we
were calling all the shots all day like managers. then about 9:15 rolls
around and this guy calls for Matt. I take it to him and he's on the
phone for 45 minutes getting this guy all the stuff he wants to order,
and between those 45 minutes were supposed to be closing the store.
Well i had the keys, i knew the password to get people off their tills,
so started getting everything shut down and ready for closing at 10:00.
gah! and i still feel horrible for Katie! i thought she was closing
with me for some strange reason >.< and so i left her on her till
and after 10 she said "yeah, i'm supposed to leave -now-" and i
realized at that moment she was supposed to leave AT closing, not after
like i was. ;.; sorry Katie... i still feel bad. she got out of there
20 minutes after 10. but oi. i had to do the batch reports, i had to
make sure the boys had their tills right, i screwed up shawns z out
report, but other than that and counting the concert tickets (which I
was also in charge of) i did everything right. but it was sooooo crazy!
i was not expecting such insanity. and not only that, but every person
in town had decided at that very moment to come to the store. GAH! and
of course tonight was so slow we were counting cracks in the floor when
tonight's manager (ricky) was on the floor to take care of us.
Bleh, i don't wanna be a manager there. it kinda sucks. it keeps ya busy which is REALLY nice, but it's alot of bloody work!
and Bree Anne called from Barnes and Nobles! *squees! and grins* it was
more like i called her, but anyway, she basically ran me through what i
should expect for a second interview if Stacy calls next week on either
Wed. or Thurs. and she also asked me how much i make. I told her 6.50
an hour. and without hesitation she stated, "oh, you'll get more than
that." and i was sorta 'eeh? really?' "oh yeah. you could be making
7.50-8.00 when we hire you." *smiles* she's really confident i'll be
hired as you can see. but yeah... like 8 bucks an hour! that's awesome!
i really hope i get this job though. from what Greg said at the
interview, they're even willing to work around this vacation my dad has
had planned forever to go to Central America for a family vacation.
they're willing to work around it! i felt guilty for telling them
that... and i admited i knew it was horrible timing, especially with
trying to get anew job like this, but i also mentioned i tried to get
Dad to move it more into the middle of Nov when it's not yet busy but
it's starting to pick up the week of Thanksgiving. and even Greg said
they don't have specials after thanksgiving, so i should be all right,
but he was glad i mentioned it and told me to tell Stacy. And from what
Bree Anne says, she's a very 'stern' person, even though she really
isn't. she just has this 'lets get it done' additude and expects you to
do everything 100% and then an added 120% more effort put into it. But
i think i've met stacy a few times on the floor and she reminds me of
Katrina so i think i know how to talk to her without feeling like she's
intimidating me.
but 7.50-8.00 o.0` that blew me away, and i hope it's true! Bree even
told me, "If you really want to make sure you get a good deal, tell her
8.50 and she'll probably say 'naw, 8.00' and you'll have it
made." and she also mentioned that saying you want that much
shows stacy you are going to be worth an 8.00 employee. so cross your
fingers! and hope Katrina doens't ask me to be a Manager anytime soon
because i really don't want them to get me trained then i move over
there. i feel bad about wanting to leave, but at the same time i have a
higher priority to myself and it's time for me to get going. it's like
i said the other day, I can see myself at Barnes and Nobles 4 years
from now where as at this CD store it's past time to go.... so i feel
guilty but at the same time i don't.
I wrote about 8 pages last night. i was so tired after doing the
manager thing that i was sort of in a daze and i had Shadow tell his
entire life story of the underworld to Queen Umad. it went pritty well.
i need to change some things because i want him to be more ruthless
than he made himself sound like. but it's a good start. something i'll
probably tweak later on.
and i hope i get the salvatore advanced reading copy i bid on!
*giggles* it's for the Promise of the Witch King book. i'm sooo
excited, it has Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri in it! do you have any
idea how much i enjoy those two's banter? They go back and forth like a
tag-team comedy and i've never laughed so hard as I do while reading
their little short stories or The Servant of the Shard the one book
dedicated to just those two as well. read the short story in "Realms of
Shadow" in the forgotten realms series. that one was so funny. for
example:
"The sword your friend carries does not belong to him," the dark man said to Jarlaxle.
The drow looked to Entreri and asked, "Did you kill the former owner?"
"What do you think?"
Jarlaxle nodded and looked back to the dark man. "It is his."
*grins silly* i have a twisted sense of humor, but i found that
hullarious the first time i read it, and i still do. i love the way
Jarlaxle phrases his question and i can just see Entreri scoff at him
as if he can't believe he had to ask him that question. so i rather
enjoyed that short story.
thus why i'm excited for an entire book dedicated souly to those two.
i'll have another happy day if i win this advanced reading copy ^_^
um... oh, apparently i know how to flirt without knowing how to
flirt. Katie told me this today. apparently because i smile at people
so much and am happy with them, i'm flirting. if that is, that would
explain why i have to wear a fake ring to try and keep people away from
me.
yeah. so i'm going to get to writing now. or read. i don't know... i
want to write but i think i wrote myself out last night on Shadow. I
should probably re-read that and correct it. make it nastier with all
the killing he does... anyway. night!
