Last night was scary and not fun. They put her on vancomycin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancomycin) because they decided that she wasn't responding and her fever just was getting worse instead of better. This is basically the last resort antibiotic so it is a major drug. She ( Read more... )

We finally got some concrete information. I knew she still had a fever and finally it showed up on the thermometer. The dr. saw her finally and is starting her on a different antibiotic. Something very strong and specifically for the strains of staph that the current antibiotic sometimes doesn't fight very well. He was concerned about the swelling ( Read more... )

I don't have access to email as my Outlook is open on my home computer and that negates me getting any of my mail remotely. So annoying but obviously not planned.

Also my cell phone doesn't work in my room so if you call and I don't return it, it's just because I didn't have the time as I have to go outside to use my cell.

Yesterday Abby was hospitalized at Children's with a bad infection in her right leg. They think it is a MRSA staff infection; we are waiting on the culture to be certain ( Read more... )
