Yeah, you remember Highlander. The film/TV show/cartoon/soon-to-be-anime about people gettin' their heads whacked off and drinking the lightning inside of them.

So in a fit of insanity I decided to look up that new movie coming out. You know, "Highlander: The Source".

Holy Jesus Christ why?

( The worst part is I'm gonna see it. But I ain't gonna like it. )

You know, I hated Highlander 4 so very, very much, especially when I learned why it ended the way it did. I saw it opening night, of course, and I was so pissed off afterwards that I put my fist through a car window in the parking lot.

Then I heard about 5, and I thought to myself well shit, the series was really good, and 5 can't be any worse than 4, can it? And then I saw this trailer. Now I'm not even sure it's going to be better than 2.

It's really hard to make a sequel and still respect the original. I really don't like television in general, and I haven't seen the series, so my comment only applies to movies.

I really liked the first one, though. My girlfriend at the time said "I have this movie you have to watch with me, but you have to promise me that for no fewer than thirty minutes you will keep your mouth shut.". It was thirty minutes and about ten seconds when I said "Oh, I get it.".

It was a good movie. It is a damned shame that it wasn't left to itself.

THEY'RE MAKING ANOTHER ONE!!!!??? Dear god someone stop them. It's like milking a dead decaying cash cow.

I liked a lot of the characters in the series though. Amanda, Richie (After he got over the ugly green coat), Darius, Hugh. They were all a lot of fun. Just that last season was total crap, and the movies.
