"Iraq's president said Tuesday it would be "complete nonsense" to ask foreign troops to leave the country now, although some could depart by year's end. Officials began the final vote tally from elections to produce a government to confront the insurgency."

Looks like I was wrong, maybe democracy will take root in Iraq, and people will look past their self centered motivations and do things that are in the interests of their country instead. I dont know the name of the president of Iraq, I did read that comment he made though. I am pretty confused about what happens now, I didnt know they were voting on a president, I thought they were voting on a national assembly...and then they would make a constitution, and at the first of next year set up a government...but I guess they have a president :)
