DC is rebooting... what would you think if Marvel did?

I would think, by this point, both major universes (and companies) would be beyond this idea. I may end up eating my words if it's great, but they've (both) got so much rich history to draw upon. This seems like the easy way out.

The difference is that while DC is a terrible (wonderful) jumbled mess of different voices and styles and genres that has absorbed several other comic book companies into its narrative and reset and contradicted itself many times over, Marvel is basically a unified world about stuff created by Stan Lee. The example you cited is fascinating because although Cap and the Sub-Mariner existed in the 40's, what we call "Marvel" started in November 61 with the advent of the Fantastic Four ( ... )
