You're comparing apples and oranges here.

Hardaway was fired from his job as LEAGUE SPOKESMAN. The league did not like what he was speaking.

The others are players in the league. The league is evidently quite satisfied with their play.

Understandable. However, I don't think the league is satisfied with their play as much as the revenue they produce. That is where the double standard lies.
