Oh oh! I've been meaning to post and announce...

I just would like to say that I finally found a copy of The Impostor last week! It's wonderful... more polished than Between the Fence and the Universe, and probably not so offbeat as Stereotype Be. Yep, I got it a few months ago at the Parable, my local Christian bookstore. I liked it, but didn't really get attached to it.

I managed to snag a copy in a local Christian bookstore, as well, though it was fairly expensive. I agree with your assessment: more polished, and more straight-up. While I like both of his previous offerings, they're both albums I can only really listen to when in a certain "mood".

This album is easier to get into, for me, even though it didn't originally strike me. That's the peculiar thing. Straight out of the gate, I wasn't as impressed, none of the songs stuck on me right away, but it grew on me with a vengeance after a few repeated listenings.

Favorites for me are "The Imposter", "Sanctuary", "Your Beautiful Mind", "Jumpstart Your Electric Heart!", and "Fade to Red (Antigalaxy)". Oh, and the hidden track is pretty spiffy, too.
