3:8Produce fruit in keeping with repentance...

42At daybreak Jesus went out to a solitary place. The people were looking for him and when they came to where he was, they tried to keep him from leaving them. 43But he said, I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent. 44And he kept on ( Read more... )

Luke 4:43 "this is why i was sent" that really made me start to wonder why was i sent? God has a pupose for me but am i living according to why i was sent? Luke 4:29 "...and they drug him to the edge of the cliff that the town was built on. They planned to throw him off the edge." Am i living on the edge? am i willing to live in a way that will take me to the edge? I finished reading Luke 3 and 4 today about 5th pd so i decided to read some of Acts and next thing i know it's the end of 6th and i'm in Acts 4 it was kinda cool b/c i just went into my own little world with God and let him speak to me through the Bible...who says God isn't allowed at a public school? So here's a verse i got out of Acts which if you didn't know was also written by Luke, Acts 4:31 "they were filled with the Holy Spirit and they spole God's word without fear." I'm filled with the Holy Spirit but am i speaking without fear? just some of my thoughts from the day!
God Bless

its hard to find a solitary place sometimes...people are always calling or my family always wants to talk, or people want me to go places....sometimes its so hard to unplug fully...Kevin I've been trying my hardest to get back into my old self. I am becoming more excited about church and considering it less of a chore now. sometimes i worry God won't want to just accept me back right away. I know he always loves me but.....its so hard to believe- i cant reach out and touch God and i want to so bad...will you please pray for me that God will give me faith and trust in Him? maybe we could sit down and have breakfast or lunch sometime?

search for solitude but not a solitary search kevinqueen December 12 2004, 13:23:27 UTC
leslie- i truly have missed seeing you around. believe me i know that sometimes coming back to the Lord can be the most difficult thing.

the very word repent means {to return} it's usually our own false-guilt that hinders our return. But God has already dealt with your guilt and when he looks at you he sees christ - "your life is now hidden with Christ in God."-col 3:3. why is the battle so hard? because the enemy wants you to live in isolation, shame, guilt, and condemnation. press through little sister - i can't wait to see what God has for you on the other side of this.
you are a wonderful creation of the Father, his delight, you make his heart beat a little faster.

kev'n, when i was readin this section it just hit me how when we finally muster up the strength to talk to that person who we've been terrified to open up to, we settle in with that comfort. that person needs the word, none-the-less, but we can't allow ourselves to strap down. its in the text. Jesus kept moving from town to town because that was why He was sent. familiarity will be the end of us if we allow it to be. there are millions of people to be reached, so don't limit yourself to a select few. preach it, brotha'

nate.
