i had a similar problem this past weekend looking for a VHS adapter for an 8mm tape. i called 6th Avenue Electronics and i got on the phone with this Indian guy. here is how the conversation went....
Me: hi do you have a VHS adapter for an 8mm tape?
Him: No.
Me: Well do you know where i can get one?
Him: No.
Me: Well is there anyone who knows ANYTHING about VHS adapters?
Him: Yes, but we are out of stock.
Me: Wait, what?
Him: Not a problem. Good Bye. ::hangs up::

It was the funniest if you can imagine my confusion and his indian accent. Later I found out that no one makes an 8mm VHS adapter anymore. So much for them being out of stock....
