I just got the call. Turns out I am NOT eligible for rehire after all. They wouldn't tell him why, so he couldn't tell me why, but I can guess. Seven years ago, my sister's ex-boyfriend wrote a long letter to the theater, pretending to be an angry old lady, saying (amongst other things) that I'd sworn at her children and thrown popcorn at her;

I would think that the whole name mix-up would have been the reason? or did that get worked out/forgotten?

Well, she just got me confused with a guy who quit, and I don't think just quitting makes you ineligible for rehire. Unless he quit in a profoundly inconsiderate way. Who knows?

Yeah, seriously. I loved that job... but the same company owns all eight of our movie theaters, so I can't work at a movie theater unless I move to another town... I know it seems silly, but I really did love working there.
