Weekly Recs 6/24/11
Sorry for the brief hiatus. My LiveJournal frustration for the past few weeks has been that when I try to post from a mobile device (which I almost always do), it strips out all formatting/HTML, including line breaks and links, even if I coded it on a real computer and am just trying to edit a post on my phone.

KEW note: This is so wrong, and yet exactly the kind of mortifying situation Jimmy would find himself in.

Summary: "They've learned how to read between the lines with their boss." Tagged to Two-Faced: Gibbs says the same thing, but Tony and Ziva each hear something different.

Summary: If there's a graveyard where defenses go to die...
KEW note: This packs quite the sad, stinging little punch.

Summary: Kate can't stop thinking about a certain conversation at the end of "Caught on Tape".
KEW note: An oldie but a goodie.

Summary: He left, then he came back, only to go and then stay. Jenny Shepard is confused over Leroy Jethro Gibbs and she doesn't like it.
"Seeking Permission" by Ashleigh Anpilova (nakeisha)
[G, Gibbs, McGee, McGee/Abby, 500 words]
Summary: There's something Tim wants to do, but he feels he needs to seek Gibbs's permission first.
KEW note: I love how in this story Gibbs and McGee talk the way Tony and Gibbs have sometimes talked on the show, quoting rules at each other.

Summary: His agents come to him at night, looking for answers. If only he had some.
KEW note: This one should look familiar--the original one shot version was featured on here before. This revised and much expanded story is a bit different but no less worthy.

Summary: After Tony comes out to Gibbs in A Little Liquid Courage, Abby in Tea and Incense, and McGee in Cheers, Probie, it's Ziva's turn. This fic includes Clowny Cakes and lots of banter.
KEW note: The best and most believable in this series to date.

Summary: When a tiny virus sweeps through Tony's body, leaving catastrophic results, his team remains vigilant.
KEW note: This remarkable fic is probably the only one of the "one of the team gets hurt/maimed/handicapped/ill" genre that I've ever truly enjoyed.

Summary: It's been three months since Gibbs' team finally put an end to Jonas Cobb, and it's been three months since Tony found Ziva bleeding to death on the warehouse floor, unable to stop the Port to Port killer's knife in time. In the aftermath of nearly losing Ziva a second time, Tony has to come to terms with the fact that the team, Ziva and himself are not as untouchable as he would have liked to think. It's something he's been trying to ignore for a long time now, but he's not sure he can anymore, and he's not sure he can ignore her.

Summary: An aircraft carrier off Bahrain is attacked during a Family Weekend and training exercise with the Israeli navy. While Ziva investigates Israel's involvement, Gibbs and Abby are called to help DiNozzo figure out what happened.

Summary: In the fallout after "Hiatus" the team copes, Tony leads, and it isn't at all like they expected.
