Weekly Recs 9/24/11

Sep 24, 2011 11:18

I think I've got this cross-posting thing worked out now, and I actually really like using Dreamwidth. Not only does it have the old LJ editor, but it has the old-old LJ editor, which means I can edit the weekly recs posts from my phone without things going pear-shaped. Win! (and hopefully more frequent recs posts!)

Completed Stories )

ensemble, gibbs, tony/ziva, ziva, abby, ncis, mcgee, jimmy, recs, ducky, weekly recs, tony, gibbs/tony

I really liked As I Come Clean. It felt very in character for Tony and Ziva.

I loved it too. Just the right amount of uncomfortableness.

You're right, "Unyielding" packs one heck of a first chapter. I instictively looked for the Chapter 2 button.

(P.S. Just thought you might like to know, but I'm not sure if "Defensive Wounds" will be posted in its entirety on LJ. I do plan to get the whole thing up on FF.net, eventually.)

I can't wait to read the rest of "Unyielding" and "Defensive Wounds.". (Don't worry, you won't sneak it by me--that's what author alert is for.)

Thanks for your list! I gave Grand Canyon Deep a whirl - it's early yet in the story but I found the characters and their reactions really well thought out and interesting to follow, and I like the sympathetic but realistic portrayal of Gibbs. It's not often that a fic tackles him struggling to find the right thing to do or say, or facing real doubts about his own abilities, while still managing to keep him in character. It's kind of a fine line, since Gibbs is normally so confident, and I was very intrigued by his character here. Excellent recs as always!

I think your assessment of Gibbs in that story is very good.
