NCIS 9x12 "Housekeeping"

Well, well, well...

I never thought I'd live to see the day when NCIS actually actively pursued the Tony/Ziva relationship in a way that wasn't just subtext (or at least, I thought that moment had passed its expiration date). But there you have it in the last scene of the episode. Of course, Ray calling was completely inevitable.

Where was Vance? I noticed that Rocky Carroll was also absent from those 200th episode pictures that got posted today. It was very strange to have Gibbs working with SecNav instead.

It seemed like SecNav is taking the same character path that Vance took: introduced as sinister, then becomes trustworthy.

Apparently Ziva's bullets that don't connect problem has now infected the Gibbs and McGee--that standoff with Stratton was just as ridiculous as the shootout in 9x11 "Newborn King.

I really enjoyed having EJ back. She's always been a favorite of mine, even if she is vaguely annoying. I liked finding out more about her relationship with Tony, and I found it rather endearing in a Girl Power way that she's obsessed with the first female candidate for president. Marks off for Tony not sharing his suspicions with Gibbs and the team right away, even after Gibbs's uncharacteristic physical intimidation. Between that and his and EJ's blow-ups at each other in the lab, Gibbs has plenty more ammunition to back up Rule 12 (sorry, Tony and Ziva).

The bait-and-switch on the safe houses has been done before on this show (8x01 "The Spider and the Fly") so I think any suspense that might have provided was lost on any regular NCIS viewers.

Not related to the episode, but are they paying Sean Murray enough? On the feed I was watching he was in a commercial for an alarm system that was clearly filmed recently.
