Now that the CBS Insiders' blog has been released, I'm not at all surprised to find that this episode was written by Cardea & Schenk. In my opinion, those two still "get" the tone of the show better than any of the other writers. And 18 hours later I still am thinking about what good fun last night's episode was.
I really wouldn't mind having Dorney on the team. I always thought it was a little unfair that Tony and Ziva got to be partners while McGee was the odd man out or got stuck trailing after Gibbs. I would be thrilled to see McGee get a partner in any case, but I really like his chemistry with Dorney. I sense the beginnings of a beautiful bromance.
I give three cheers to this episode to being so full of McGee in general. I just love McGee. What a great, underutilized character. And he doesn't have to be! I didn't feel like our normal major players got slighted because McGee got more screen time. I just felt that the show was stronger.
